Little Girl Anna

I took Anna to run errands with me today while Andrew was at school. She took her baby and stroller in every where we went. At least today she did not insist on wearing her "princess" shoes that we had to wear to the grocery store the other day. I took her to Target the other day to buy a toy with Christmas money, but she picked out shoes and a purse instead! I know her great-grandmother (whom she is named for) is so proud (she loved shoes)! I just hope she inherited her great-grandmother's love for Christ too!

Susan's Baby Shower

Andrew and I went to Susan's baby shower. We left Anna at Gigi's and Poppy's house. We had a great time, and I love seeing my friends. I miss you guys so much and loved catching up!!! Andrew and Taylor had so much fun together and so did their mommies! When we found out Susan was having a boy, and I told Andrew, he said the typical 4 year old response, "Why?" I said that is just what God decided to give them. He said I know why God decided that, and I said why. He said because Anna does not have a boyfriend, so the baby can be hers just like I am Tay Tay's!

Buzz Lightyear

So, it is harder to keep up to date than I expected!!!

We have a had a little friend who has been in the hospital. He is doing better now, and we hope there will be no long term complications. Anyway, while he was at the hospital, he discovered Buzz Lightyear! When he got home, his parents went on a desperate search to find Buzz (with no luck). I asked Andrew if he was willing to give up one of his Buzz's and take to Hunter. He said yes. It helps that some of his love for Buzz is being replaced by the Power Rangers (something that breaks my heart). Anyway, when we were getting out of the car, I overheard him hugging Buzz saying, "Bye Buzz, I am going to miss you." Yes, I cried, and was very proud of him.

On his last birthday, his friend Jonathan gave him his Buzz that they do not make any more, and Andrew loves! We tried to teach him about sacrificial gifts, and how they are the best gifts, and that is the gift God gave us when Jesus died on the cross. That was in August, and I assumed that went in one ear and out another. But later that day (after giving Hunter his Buzz), Andrew said, "Mom, now I have 2 sacrificial gifts." I was so proud!!!

If only we could all give as sacrificially, purely, and innocently as God and children.

Soccer

Andrew is finally old enough to play soccer this spring. When I found out, I thought Dan would be thrilled. He said he thought he was too young, but Andrew wants to play. Anyway, we assembled a team of some good friends, and the only thing we needed was a coach! I asked Dan if he wanted to coach, and he said no, they don't care about the game yet, they don't even keep score! Well, there was no else would coach, so Dan agreed to help his friend Terry coach. Terry coach last year, but only because no one else would! Anyway, Saturday, Terry's son, Jonathan, was at our house so Dan decided to practice coaching on Andrew and Jonathan. First thing they ran outside, and Jonathan got in the soccer goal pretending to be a lion in a cage and Andrew turned into a Power Ranger! Dan called them in, and said there is no being silly in soccer. So then he told them to try to keep the ball away from each other. Andrew ran off when Jonathon came near him, and Jonathan gave Andrew a hug and told him he could have the ball. Dan counted to ten about 100 times, and explained to them that there was no giving the ball to someone on the other team, no running away from the ball, and certainly no hugging in soccer! The boys just looked at him and laughed. At this point I am laughing so hard I am crying! Dan said he was going to "bench" the boys if they didn't quit acting silly. I explained to them being benched was time-out, and they shaped up! Then Dan would put the ball in front of their foot, and say don't kicked the ball before I tell you to, and with that, they would kick the ball, and laugh! After this happened several times, I told the little boys they could have candy if they played soccer and listened to Mr. Dan. They liked that plan a lot! The little boys actually learned a lot and ended up having a great time. I think the verdict is still out on Dan. Jonathan went home, and his dad asked how the soccer practice was. Jonathan replied good, and Mr. Dan actually knows how to play! This season should make for some great blogs!

Great Big Brother

Last night Andrew asked if he could rock and sing Anna to sleep. It was very sweet, but after the two songs, he said he was tired and didn't want to rock anymore. I could relate!

Go Saints

My little Miss. State cheerleader and football player are giving their support to the Saints! We are trying to be good while Daddy watches the football game.

Trial Run

I understand this is the "cool" way to get out-of-town friends and family updated on your life. I thought I would give it a try! I will post some Christmas pictures as that is the last time I took pictures!
